Nance & Underwood Rigging & Sails was proud to be on site at the A & B Marina this year during Premier Racing's Key West Race Week. With our new mobile customer service facility centrally located in the hub of activity, we were able to supply service for the yachts competing in the races to help keep them in the running. In addition to thanking Peter Craig and his team at Premier Racing for organizing the regatta, a huge thank you must go out to the City of Key West and everyone else involved with helping Nance & Underwood experience a very successful Key West Race Week.
Of the 295 teams sailing in the regatta, Nance and Underwood's Rob Friedrich and Shane Pernice made a very serious effort and service 61 of them. The yachts they serviced included most of the top ranking boats in almost every class. They supplied a heap of high tech cordage and custom splicing of Marlow and New England Ropes. A wide variety of yachting equipment, spares and repairs were supplied including spare parts from Rope, Inc., Ocean Yacht Systems, Ronstan, Harken, Spinlock, Forespar, Tylaska, Windex, Wichard, Sailtec, Tuff Luff, Frederiksen (now Ronstan) and Lifeline Parts supplied by Hayn and CSJ. In addition to supporting the boats in the race, Rob and Shane helped every other mobile rigging outfit on site in Key West with spares and technical service.
Mingling amongst the world class sailors competing in the regatta were many world class factory representatives and field service agents representing the who's who of marine manufacturers. Without the support from these people who formed the shore crew for the regatta, many of the yachts would have not been able to complete the strenuous 5 days of racing. With that in mind, a very special thank you goes out to Rob Peterson, Tom Rinda and Tom Peelen of East Coast Marine Marketing (http://www.ecm2.com), Kevin Coughlin of New England Ropes (http://www.neropes.com), Alan Prussia, Ben Moon and Mike LaGrua of Ronstan USA (http://www.ronstan.com), Peter Harken, Neil Harvey, Scott (Scuba) Norman and Bill Goggins of Harken (http://www.harken.com), Harken's Southeast Distributor Brooks Jones of Sailing Services, Inc., Doug Lyman and Alex Foster of Maritime Trading Co. (http://www.maritimetrading.net), Andy Colloton of Hayn Enterprises (http://www.hayn.com), Judy Brehm of Sailtec Marine Hydraulics (http://www.sailtec.com), Tim Tylaska of Tylaska Marine Hardware (http://www.tylaska.com) and Humberto of Key West Marine Hardware.
As always, many new friends were made in Key West during Race Week and many old friends reacquainted. Please look for Rob and Shane to have Nance & Underwood's mobile customer service facility on site at Premier Racing's new Acura Miami Race Week (X SORC) March 13, 2005 http://www.premiere-racing.com/miami/2005_miami/miami_2005_index.htm.
